Directions to Madinat Zayed Colleges
You can leave Abu Dhabi on either bridge. If you leave the island on Khaleej Al Arabi (30th) street, and go over Musaffa Bridge, you need to turn 3rd right, signposted Musaffa and Tarif (E11), keeping to the left at the subsequent fork in the road to join the main Musaffa road, (E22). If you leave on Maqta Bridge, you need to head towards Musaffa, Tarif and Sila. This also applies if coming from Dubai or Al Ain.
Once on the E22, Follow the directions to Tarif and Al Ain. Go straight under the 1st and 2nd flyovers/bridges, past the large Carrefour on your right and under the 3rd flyover. The road bends here and the buildings clear. On your right there is an ADNOC petrol filling station. Fill up if you need to, as it is 90km along the Tarif and Sila road to the next ADNOC. Just after the filling station, turn right onto the Taffif and Sila road, signposted Tafif, Al Sila and Ghweifat.
This is where you join the coast road to Tarif and Sila, although you don’t see much of the sea from the road. Eventually you come to a junction signposted to Abu Al Abyad. Continue over the flyover across this junction and soon you will see on the right an ADNOC petrol station. This is a popular refreshment / comfort stop for the people who commute to Madinat Zayed and Ruwais.
After the ADNOC, take the next right slip road, signposted to Madinat Zayed, Liwa (Mazaira’a) and Zayed City. Go around the roundabout to cross over the flyover/bridge, heading inland. After another small roundabout, you will be on a high quality highway with very little traffic. It rises from the salt flats up through scenic sand dunes and low hills. After about 30 minutes you get to the town of Madinat Zayed. The attached map is now useful.
Drive through town and after the Ruler’s Representative Diwan turn right at the traffic lights. These are the 5th set of lights you meet in MZ. You will see signs for the Higher Colleges of Technology. There is a sculpture of a coffee pot just after you make the turn. Keep going along this road passing the hospital. There are a few roundabouts with sculptural masterpieces. After a few roundabouts, you will see one with another coffee pot on it. At the next roundabout after this coffee pot, take the last turn off (the one before you would be doubling back on yourself). This takes you soon to another roundabout and you exit this to go between two grocery stores, both with LIPTONS signs.
At the next roundabout turn right (there is a mosque with a blue dome on the right). The college is at the end of this street.

Directions to Ruwais Colleges
You can leave Abu Dhabi on either bridge. After the ADNOC station continue along the Sila road and carry on, under the flyover towards Ruwais. It is another 130 Km along the road. You will pass Tarif, Mirfa, and the turn off to Ghayathi. You will see the Ruwais Industrial Complex on the right side of the road and another ADNOC Fuel Station also on the right. There are yellow milestones (kilometer markers) on the side of the road. You will need to do a U-Turn at marker 102 kilometres. Drive back in the direction of Abu Dhabi. There is a large red warning sign about dangerous power cables ahead. You must take the right turn after this sign (and before the actual power cables).
You can follow the map now, although there is an extra roundabout that has been built since the map was made. This road is a dual carriageway and you need to continue along it passing several roundabouts until eventually the dual carriageway ends. At this point go completely round the roundabout (this is the sixth roundabout) and head back the way you came up the other side of the dual carriageway. Turn right immediately after passing a small lake on the right.
The entrance to the college is a little way along this road.
