Madinat Zayed Colleges

Madinat Zayed colleges are set in the heart of Al Gharbia, in Madinat Zayed City, close to Liwa at the edge of the massive Rub’ Al Khali desert, known in English as ‘the Empty Quarter’. The colleges also serve students from Al Mirfa, on the beautiful, un-spoilt coastline of the Gulf. Al Gharbia is an area of the United Arab Emirates steeped in tradition and history, but leading the way in technological and environmental development. Over the next ten years there are ambitious plans to develop the region’s infrastructure and economy. Improving access to Higher Education for the youth of the region is an essential part of these plans, so that they are ready to take up the career and employment opportunities that are being created and lead Al Gharbia into the future.

Ruwais Colleges

Ruwais Colleges were opened to help cut down travel time for more distant students. They are ideally situated to serve students from Sila, Ghayathi, Ruwais and surrounding towns. Faculty members teach across both campuses, sometimes travelling, sometimes using video link up, to enable all students to have the same opportunities across the vast region. The 35 highly qualified faculty have backgrounds in English, Maths, Computer Literacy, Information Technology, Business and Health Sciences. They are complimented by 46 staff, including the Director, Dr Phil Quirke.

CERT

CERT, Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training, employs a further 11 well qualified staff who work across both campuses, serving the community needs for short and longer term professional development, offering full time and part time courses, including evening and weekend study opportunities. CERT also offers the Work Readiness Programme, which teaches basic work skills. CERT responds to requests from businesses and organizations to set up courses for their staff and at the moment it offers courses in English, IELTS testing and preparation, DELTA, (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults), CELTA, ICDL, (International Computer Driving License), EMBA, Bachelors of MechaTronics, Food Inspection Diploma, Laboratory Analysis Certificate, Educational Management and Librarian courses.
